Q2. Do I need to use a denture adhesive?
That is entirely up to you. The decision to use a denture adhesive is one that only you can make as everyone is different. In most cases you should not need to use an adhesive as your dentures will have been fabricated to your individual requirements.
But dentures can become damaged or loose over time. As you age your gums start to recede and this combined with a decrease in bone density and flabby cheek muscles causes problems. The main is that of poorly fitting dentures.
It is a good idea to visit your dentures and ask him/her to check the fit of your dentures. They may need relining or rebasing or some other adjustment. If you decide to use a denture adhesive then your dentist may recommend a suitable type.
Dentists would advise you to have your dentures looked at instead of using a denture adhesive but again, it is your choice.
