Powder Adhesives

Powder denture adhesives are an alternative to the paste variety and are often preferred instead. They are very easy to apply and clean “easier to clean a pair of dentures after using a powder “compared to paste denture adhesives.

But, they have their downsides as well.

They are not as firm which means that they do not adhere as well to the denture which reduces their effectiveness. Basically, they do not hold your dentures securely in place compared to a paste adhesive.

Powder or fixative powder as it is sometimes called acts as a cushion for your dentures and ensures that they are more comfortable to wear.

There are several brands to choose from which again, are a matter of personal choice. Examples include ‘Rigident Denture Adhesive Powder’, ‘Poligrip Super Wernets Powder’ and ‘Klutch Denture Adhesive Powder’.
